Beavers Beaver Scouting is all about having fun, making friends and learning new skills. Young people start to gain some independence while trying out many different activities and experiencing new adventures. They follow a balanced programme, earning Challenge Awards and Activity Badges, but the most important parts are joining in and trying their best. The fun includes going on visits, making things, playing games and exploring the world around them. They learn about other people and about themselves. Beavers don't go camping but they can have a sleepover indoors, somewhere near home. The core age range for Beaver Scouts is from 6 to 8. Beaver Scouts around the time of their 8th birthday "swim up" to Cubs to continue on their path through Scouting. Within the 10th Haymarket Scout Group we have 2 beaver colonies called Yukon and Hudson We meet on a Friday evening at the scout hall from 4.30pm until 5.30pm. |
